Building a Fully Engaged Community of Tinkers

The right platform to pair with an “Open. Simple. Connected.” mantra.

Meta Watch — Hands Freedom™Meta Watch was pioneered by former Fossil alumni Bill Geiser and David Rosales, who coincidentally were responsible for bringing the world’s first bluetooth connected watches to the world in 2006. Their vision was simple: create an affordable watch that could also pair to your mobile device as an external display for apps. And to make it all Open Source and hackable by anyone. Two years later they achieved their goal and Meta Watch was born in 2011.

Meta Watch makes it easy for enthusiasts and developers to create useful, new wearable applications, allowing you to stay connected and stay in style when you are truly mobile and on the go.

The MODX Solution

Creating an amazing piece of technology that brings Hands Freedom™ to the world is challenging enough without having to muddle through difficult or inflexible software to manage the community. That’s why the team at Meta Watch turned to MODX for help.

MODX was able to provide a complete community solution for Meta Watch, leveraging the years experience gained from its open source heritage. MODX provided Meta Watch a turnkey solution to engage their community.

MODX lets us focus on firmware, battery life, development kits and design without worrying about how we get that information into our growing community. We don’t have to think about it—it just works and when we need help from MODX, they take care of us promptly and professionally. We look forward to adding functionality to our website with the team at MODX.Bill Geiser, Co-founder, Meta Watch
