About Jason Coward
Jason Coward is a co-founder of MODX and its Chief Architect, with a career spanning web development, database administration, and software architecture. He joined the MODX project in its earliest days and has shaped its technical direction ever since.
Jason is the author of xPDO, the object-relational bridge that underpins MODX Revolution's database layer, and served as lead architect of MODX Revolution itself. He built xPDO after finding no existing PHP ORM met the performance and portability requirements the project demanded—a decision that gave MODX its database-agnostic foundation.
Based in Durango, Colorado, Jason writes about PHP architecture and MODX development on his blog at opengeek.com. Outside of code, he is an avid drummer, an enthusiastic amateur nature photographer, and a fan of sci-fi, poetry, and cooking.
