About Ryan Thrash
Ryan Thrash co-founded MODX in 2004 and has served as CEO since the company was formally incorporated in 2010. He has worked in open source web software for more than 20 years, starting in e-commerce communities like osCommerce and ZenCart before helping create MODX CMS and later leading the development of MODX Revolution—an open source CMS and application framework now powering millions of sites worldwide.
Ryan led MODX's transition from a services and support model to a SaaS business with the launch of MODX Cloud, a fully managed hosting platform built specifically for MODX. He continues to lead the team and shape the product today.
Ryan lives in Dallas, TX, with his family and Fred the mini Golden Doodle. He is a devoted fan of BBQ, charcoal cooking, and anything involving wood and fire.
