MODXpo 2027 is April 22–23 in Leeuwarden

MODXpo is back. The next one takes place April 22–23, 2027 in Leeuwarden, the Netherlands. Mark Hamstra of modmore is hosting and organizing the event, and he is looking forward to welcoming everyone to his home town of Leeuwarden.

If you build sites with MODX, maintain an Extra, run an agency or contribute to core, I'd like to see you there. If you've been using MODX for a while and have never met anyone from the community in person, this is a good time to change that. You can attend in person or online.

Why now

It has been five years since the last MODXpo, and web development looks different. AI changes how we plan, build and maintain websites, and it's fair to ask where MODX fits in that. None of us has all the answers. Working them out together, in one room, over food and drinks, will get us further than doing it alone.

The plan

  • Thursday, April 22. Conference day with talks and lightning talks about real projects and practical AI. modmore will also release ContentBlocks 2.0.
  • Friday, April 23. Hackathon day. Work side by side with other community members on core, the manager UI, Extras and the future of MODX. Bring what you're working on, or an idea you haven't had time to start.

Ways to take part

  • Attend. Tickets go on sale December 1 for both in-person and online attendance.
  • Speak. If you've built something worth sharing, or learned something the hard way, Mark would like to hear from you.
  • Sponsor. Sponsors help bring ticket prices down, and that needs to happen before tickets go on sale.
  • Volunteer. A few extra hands will make the event run better.

To speak, sponsor or help out, email Mark at [email protected].

More information

Venue details, the schedule, travel and lodging suggestions, and sponsor information are on the MODXpo 2027 site.

MODXpo works because people show up and take part. I hope to see you in Leeuwarden.
