ImageUpdater

By Rick V (ricjustsaid)

ImageUpdater is a component which simplifies the process of updating an image across multiple pages of your website.

MODx currently lacks a resource management feature, which makes it difficult to manage multimedia, especially on larger websites. For example, suppose you reuse an image across several Resources, and one day you update the image. The dimensions may no longer match, or the filename may have changed. You would normally need to go through each resource one-by-one and edit the filename or dimensions by hand, which can be a painstaking process.

This is where ImageUpdater comes in. Using a simple HTML form, you can globally update all images on your site by supplying the original filename (src) to match, as well as a new src, alt, title, class, and style. ImageUpdater can also autodetect the dimensions of the new image (requires the PHP GD library), or you can enter specific width and height values.
